Birthday Pictures!

It's been a glorious birthday. First of all, thank you Evie for my poem - I will have sweet dreams of you tonight! Max, I hope I didn't make you barf, I'm sure you understand how I feel, I mean with you and Miss Sunshade and all...

Tin Tin, my mom received a card when she was little, maybe around 9 or 10 with the hippo birdies replacing happy birthday. She held onto it for the longest time but eventually lost it. She thinks of it every year around her birthday - your comment brought a tear to her eye; she says "Thank you very much Tin Tin".

Picture Time Picture Time Picture Time Picture Time Picture Time

Here is a picture of my cake before we pooches devoured it:

and here's a picture of us and our mommy waiting for said cake:

Here is a picture of our dear Annabelle being "The Goose!" She says "Hi Simon!"

and finally, here are some pictures of us trashing the kitchen while eating our cake:

We were good pooches and cleaned up the floor after we messed it up. Wow, what a fun day. I hope you had a fun day too!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Oh my goodness! I'm so excited that I can't contain myself. It's my birthday today! I have been spinning circles all day and wagging my stubby butt all over the place! I'm five years old - a big boy now. Weeeeeeee!!!!!

I hear that mom got me a cake, and there is talk of a poochie party. Say it aint so!!!

Happy birthday to me, the Boomfreakah!

Hahahaha!!! Anyway, what should she get Snickers, Annie, and I for a treat? Doggie cake, McDonald's hamburgers, steak? What about this thing called a Twinkie? I love canned pumpkin maybe I can have some of that? What do you all suggest? Max's birthday is November the 1st, right? We should have a big whopper of a poochie party!

A Poem for Evie

Sorry Max, I know this is going to totally make you barf, but I just can't help myself:

A Poem for Evie:

Her name is Evie
Her eyes sparkle like stars
Her smile is as wide as the horizon
Her fluff is um, fluffy

Her name is Evie
She is as sweet as pie
Mom’s BLUE RIBBON pecan pie
Not the poop pies my sister Annie eats

Her name is Evie
She looks like a cotton ball
Soft and poofy
She can be goofy
But so can I

Her name is Evie
She’s my honey
She’s my sweetie pie

That Turbo is Such a Weirdo!

Hi ho everybody!

Turbo is such a dork. He thinks he's a little mastermind by taking over my blog. I am so barking out loud right now!! Yah Turbo, you just go on your merry little way and think that.

Why are kitties hell bent on world domination? Is it because they are small like that wacky Kim Jong-il? He's small, that's why he has a complex. Mom calls it "short man's complex" - when men try and overcompensate for being teeny tiny like Mr. Jong-il. She says they try and make up for being short or for having short body parts, and she said she's not talking about their feet.

Then what part is she talking about?

Maybe kitties have that something like that called "Short kitty complex"? Maybe they are trying to compensate for their tiny brains? Or maybe they are trying to make up for the fact that their breath smells like buckets of chum?

Annies breath smells like poop. She eats a lot of poop. Mom and dad tried everything to stop that - even tried putting tobasco sauce on the poop and you know what, she said, "SALSA!" and gobbled it all up.

But I digress... So Turbo is making up for something and that's okay, I can hang with that. You know, we all have our picadilloes.

What's your picadillo?

Turbo Kitty Here

This is Turbo Kitty and I'm takin over.

I use to be the king of the castle, the master of my domain, the ruler of the home. I was numero uno, the big cheese, the head honcho, top cat. Then the humans brought canines into the home, without my permission. The whole home was my world, my oyster, dare I say - my empire. I'm not one to share my oyster with anyone or anything so I now have the back half of the house which includes the humans bedroom and the dogs have the front. Oh sure, I could go out in front with the canines but I do not mingle with such company.

But I have had enough, it's time for a revolt, it's time to launch a revolution, it's time to unleash the power of TURBO's TERROR (dum de dum dum).

I of course will be the leader since this whole operation is named after me but I have enlisted some help:

My Minister of Propaganda: Heir Boots

He shall politically woo any opponents that might get in our way. Here he is now pledging his loyalty to my cause.

Of course I had to pick someone who would bring fear into the eyes of any canine or human. I had to recruit a cat so cunning that nations would fear his name for generations to come. A cat so diabolical, so mischievous, that even I myself keep him close because I don't trust him. His name you ask?

Intimidation Expert: Heir Smudgie

Military operations will be conducted at night. My goal is to weaken the humans to the point that they will have no choice but to boot the dogs outside for good. We kitties have a tactic for reducing humans to such degrading depths, we poop in their shoes.

Who is this kitty that would dare risk life and limb for me?

Heir Peanut and his infrared nose

This home will once again be the pearl in my oyster. So help me God, I will rule again and the stinkin dogs can't stop me!

Bones for All!

Mr. Kim Jong-il, you wacky little man,

Please take the lifts out of your shoes, defluff your hair, and throw on something colorful for God sakes - you look so silly. If you didn't have nukes I would laugh. Heck, I'm still laughing, just a bit more cautiously now.

Here, follow the rule of this natural born leader, the Golden Retriever:

Now go relax and let someone normal run your country.

Here's Annabelle

AKA: annie, anniebelle, the goose, goosie, loosy goosie, moopies, mama moo moo's, mama's little girl, girly girl, and baby annie.

She's special, and yes - I do mean ride the short bus special. But that's why we love her so very much.

After mom and dad got Snickers they wanted another dog so they started looking for a Brittany. They looked in the paper and found an advertisement for a Brittany at a no-kill shelter. "Hot damn!" they said and they got in the car and drove to see the pooch.

This is who they saw:

She was a quivering mass. Dad was kind of bummed because she wasn't a Brittany and mom looked into her eyes and started getting all boo-hooey. Dad then mumbled something like, "Oh good lord..." and then a few days later Annie came home to live with them.

It's obvious that she has had a very abusive past and if I ever find the person that hurt our dear Annabelle I'm not only going to pee all over them but I'm going to bite them in the crotch! No one, I mean NO ONE hurts our Annie or any other pooch. GRRRR!!!

Okay, gotta calm down. Breathe Boomer, breathe. I'm better now. So is Annie by the way. She still has issues from her past - she's scared of loud noises, sudden moves from humans, and other things, but Snickers became her big brother and showed her the ropes and she's much better.

Hey Annie, don't fly away with those beautiful big ears of yours!

I love you!

Your little brother,

Boomer

RULES OF THE DOG

1. Dogs are never permitted in the house. The dogstays outside in a
specially built wooden compartment named, for very good reason, the dog
house.

2. Okay, the dog can enter the house, but only for short visits or if his own house is under renovation.

3. Okay, the dog can stay in the house on a permanent basis, provided his
dog house can be sold in a yard sale to a rookie dog owner.

4. Inside the house, the dog is not allowed to run free and is confined to
a comfortable but secure metal cage.

5. Okay, the cage becomes part of a two-for-one deal along with the dog
house in the yard sale, and the dog can go wherever the hell he pleases.

6. The dog is never allowed on the furniture.

7. Okay, the dog can get on the old furniture but not the new furniture.

8. Okay, the dog can get up on the new furniture until it looks like the old furniture and then we'll sell the whole damn works and buy new furniture...upon which the dog will most definitely not be allowed.

9. The dog never sleeps on the bed. Period.

10. Okay, the dog can sleep at the foot of the bed.

11. Okay, the dog can sleep alongside you, but he's not allowed under the covers.

12. Okay, the dog can sleep under the covers but not with his head on the
pillow.

13. Okay, the dog can sleep alongside you under the covers with his head on the pillow, but if he snores he's got to leave the room.

14. Okay, the dog can sleep and snore and have nightmares in bed, but he's not to come in and sleep on the couch in the TV room, where I'm now
sleeping. That's just not fair.

15. The dog never gets listed on the census questionnaire as "primary
resident," even if it's true.

Mom got this from her Brittany forum. I know there has got to be more rules out there so please list them in the comment box for her.

Introducing Snickers

Here is Snickers:

He was the first dog my mom and dad got. When they moved into their home they wanted a dog but they weren't actively looking since they had just settled in.

One day they were at the mall to see a friend that worked there and they found out there was a huge pet fair with tons of animals. The animal shelter had a few dogs there, including Snickers. They walked up to him and he leaned against the cage and they petted him, it was all over. They filled out the adoption papers and paid their fees. That was on a Friday, they couldn't take him home until the following Monday because he had to be fixed.

When they went to pick him up he wasn't fixed because he caught a bad case of Kennel Cough. Mom stayed up with him all night as he coughed and she just cried like a big baby!

Mom has lots of nicknames for him: nicks, nickie-noos, sneakers, mr. snickers, mr. sneaky peakys, nick nack paddy wack, nicky noodle man, lil ol' man, and many more that I can't remember.

Snickers was about three back then, which makes him about nine now. He's a happy boy, always smiling, always loving, always loyal. He's my pal!!!

Vote for Dazy Dew!

Hi Ho!

My good friend and former foster pup Dazy Dew is up for a spot in Tail Waggins Bakery's final round of their Summer Photo Contest, isn't that most wonderful? There are lots and lots of cute doggies on there but our Miss Dazy takes the cake in my opinion.

My family and all my fellow pals on the American Brittany Rescue forums really want her to win and anyone with an e-mail can vote for her.

Check out this little Calendar Girl and see for yourself...

I'm such a sweetie and my mom just loves me!

I'm just chillin with my homies!

I'm done digging the hole, now where's the bone?

Hmmm, maybe Dazy should also run for Governor of California. I bet you she could run California better than any person could.

Meet Annie

This is my friend Annie. She always has a smile on her face. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone but I have a crush on her. I mean look at those freckels! Look at those eyes!! Look at that nose!!! Now that is a proper Brittany nose if I ever saw one.

Yes sir, a nose made for sniffing, definitely made for investigating and rooting out all sorts of trouble and getting to the bottom of things. A nose made for work; all business, you betcha!!!

D'oh! Annie, you aren't suppose to root out your mom's plants, leave that for the chipmunks!

BEFORE I WAS A DOG MOM

Mom found this on the American Brittany Rescue forums; enjoy.

Before I was a Dog Mom:

I made and ate hot meals unmolested. I had unstained, unfurred clothes.
I had quiet conversations on the phone, even if the doorbell rang.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got to bed or if I could get into my bed.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I cleaned my house every day. I never tripped over toys, stuffies, chewies;
or invited the neighbor's dog over to play.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags, toilet paper, soap or
deodorant were poisonous or dangerous.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never been peed-on, pooped-on, drooled-on, chewed-on
Or pinched by puppy teeth.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had complete control of my thoughts, my body and mind.
I slept all night without sharing the covers or pillow.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop a hurt.
I never knew something so furry and four-legged could affect my heart so deeply.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never held a sleeping puppy just because I couldn't put it down.
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night to make sure all was well.
I didn't know how warm it feels inside to feed a hungry puppy.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never known the warmth,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being
a Dog Mom

Beta Blogger

Hi Ho!!!

Well mom switched my blog over to Blogger's new beta verson which has some cool features EXCEPT that I can't post comments on those who haven't switched over.

So I want you all to know I have been visiting my list of blogs, Pippen, Fleas Gang, Opy & Charlie, Ayatollah Mugsy and others, and have posted comments as "Anonymous" when I can and explaining why. Opy and Charlie, I sent your mum an e-mail today, did you get it?

I'm hoping that Blogger will fix this soon.

I'm Back - Hooray!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long!

My folks got back from this mystical place called "Maui" on Saturday. We were so happy to see them! My stubby butt couldn't stop wiggling! Of course I followed Fleas Gang's advise and got into a whole heap of trouble! You can kiss my previous bath goodbye - ha! I played in the sticky hibiscus tree the entire time and got sticky and dirty and smelly! Mom still hugged me when she came home, she loves me so!

Anywho, here's a picture of this thing called a rainbow. I like them - they are so pretty!

I'll stop by everyone's blogs within the next couple days to catch up. I am so glad I'm back - I missed you all!

Go Sooners!

What's this Vacation Thing?

Mom and dad keep talking about vacation and Maui and Friday...

What does it mean?

Does it mean Jennifer comes over and stays with us while they are gone? Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!

Woe As Me - Arrrroooooo!

Well it happened. I tried to avoid it, I tried to hide, but it was no use. Yesterday I got a bath. What made it worse was that it was in the bathroom and the cat stood outside the doorway the whole time and mocked me. Evil kitty!!! Grrrrr...

My parents washed me with Johnson's Baby Shampoo which was nice since I do act like a baby sometimes. I have to admit, I felt a lot cleaner afterwards, I wasn't sticky anymore, and I smelled good.

The best part about it all was that after I was all nice and dry mom gave me, Annie and Snickers spoonfuls of peanut butter - yummy to my tummy!!!!! Nothing says lovin more than peanut butter.

So maybe this bath thing isn't so bad after all if you get treats at the end. Maybe next time it will be a steak? One can only hope!

Sunday, August 20, 2006

Opy - Annie and I Need a Baths!!!

Opy - HELP!!!!!

I went and got all dirty and sticky! While my mom and dad were out last night my sister Annabelle and I went and played in our hibiscus tree. The problem is that it has a bunch of bugs in it right now and they leave a sticky residue on the leaves and now it's all over us! Our parents don't want to pet us because we are so sticky, but they pet us anyway because the love us! LOL!

We had so much fun but had I known that we were going to get baths I think I wouldn't have played in that plant. I'll try and post a picture of bath time for everyone to see later.

Rocco is a Happy Boy!!!

Hey there,

Rocco is at his foster home and he just sent me some pictures. I know that his foster mom is taking really good care of him and getting him back to health so he can get a good forever home. He also has several pooches to play with: CJ, Daisy Dew, and Doc. Daisy likes to dig holes in the backyard, I think it's so she can get her mom to get a swimming pool installed but I doubt that will happen. Maybe she's digging a hole to China? Tee hee! Here's a pic of Daisy's work:

Hooray for Riverside Rocco!!!!

To Every Season...

The American Brittany Rescue has a forum that mom is on and she found out one of the nice ladies lost her beloved pooch, Gunner, a few months ago rather unexpectedly. Here is a picture of her handsome boy Gunner. He's in poochie heaven chasing squirrels, birds, and butterflies 24/7 now and he's missed by his mom very much.

To help her with the pain she got a lovely little boy name Ruger. Don't you just love the names of both these dogs?! Here is a picture of baby Ruger. Look at that nose, I mean it's just kissable. He could get into the trash, dig a 10 foot hole in the backyard, and piddle on the finest carpet and then make your anger all go away by looking at you with that nose and those golden eyes. Man, I think I'm jealous!!

Hi ho Ruger!!!!!

Hooray for Tagging

Opy tagged me, Opy tagged me,
I'm so happy
Opy tagged me!

My stubby tail is just going nuts right now!

Here are the rules:

The player of this game starts with "5 weird things/habits about yourself." Then you tag 5 friends and list their names. The furries who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their 5 weird things/habits, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. Don't forget to leave your victim a comment that says "you're tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

1) I turn circles all the time - when I play ball, when I'm happy or excited - but I only turn right. I never ever turn left.

2) I'm addicted to strawberries, tomatoes, cheese, and butter.

3) My gas smells like asparagus or broccolli.

4) When I jump on the couch I usually fart - it kind of acts like a propeller or something.

5) I make weird noises when I yawn; kind of like, "Arooooooo" and I stretch my neck as far as it can go while I make my funny sounds.

I tag Pippin , Bogart, Beagledom,(Daisy Mae and Peanut), Simon & Shelly, Sam.

Thoughts for the day

I heard on the news today that there was a terror plot that was exposed in Britain. My thanks goes to the wonderful Brits out there who discovered this and made the arrests. You saved hundreds, maybe even thousands of lives.

Much appreciation and kisses,

Boomer

Rocco, Cats That Look Like Hitler, and Photo Editors

Hi ho!

Lots to post about today so first I'll start with Rocco...

My mom volunteers for American Brittany Rescue and she helped transport a pooch named Rocco to the vet on Saturday. Poor fella is sick with Kennel Cough and he can’t go to his foster home until he gets better.

I guess he was found in a shelter out in Riverside which is kind of far from where I live and a lady called ABR and said, “Hey, there’s a Brittany in a shelter out here.” So another nice lady went and got Rocco and bailed him out but since he had Kennel Cough he couldn’t go to his foster home so mom picked him up and took him to a vet in some place called Orange County which is another place kind of far from where I live.

This all happened on Saturday and his foster mom was suppose to pick him up on Monday but he was too sick and the vet couldn’t hold him any longer so his foster mom took him to another vet. She said he looked so sad… He just gets dropped off at places and left behind. He doesn’t know that these people are trying to make him better; I don’t think he’s use to that. Mom says he will be at his foster home for sure on Thursday. Hopefully she can visit him this coming weekend and give him big Boomer kisses!

I’m so thankful for rescues and shelters. They helped me, my sister Annabelle, my brother Snickers, and thousands and thousands of other pooches. They give us dogs (cats too) second chances. God bless them all...

Cats that look like Hitler, say it aint so! Now I aint the Anti-Semite (yo Mel!) but you have to admit, this site is hilarious. Check out this guy - you can tell he's hell bent on world domination. I betcha he's got his own autographed copy of Mein Kampf. I shudder to think what life would be like under his rule.

Photo editor help please! My dad is wondering about a good photo editor to buy. Mom keeps telling him to buy Photoshop but he doesn't want to spend that much money. Any suggestions? We run Windows at home - I keep telling them to get a Mac but I don't know when that will happen.

I think that's it for now. Mom says she has to stop typing for me and get back to work. I might be able to update later. Oh yah, and she can't remember how to add a picture with a link to the site attached to it so if you know how could you please post it in comments - that is if you don't mind...

Hooray for stubby butts!!!

Paw It Forward

Hi ho!!!

My mom is going to try and put the Paw It Forward picture/link up tonight on the blog for me.

That is, if she remembers how to do it. Tee hee hee!

Here's a picture of Numo, the cutest Hedgie ever:

And here's a picture of a pecan pie my mom cooked. Why she has it I don't know but she asked if she could add it to my blog and I said okay. She might add pictures of her crocheting once in a while too.

I think that's it for now. Thank you all again for your comments, that makes me so happy that I can just spin in circles for like a half hour!!!!

Okay, I'm Back

Hello from Boomer!

Mom stopped blogging because of the upkeep and lack of responses but she's inspired by the likes of Pippin, Bogart, and others so I convinced mom to try again. She said that there might be times where there won't be pictures of me but that's okay, I can deal with that.

Here's an update:

Turbo Kitty was caught trying to be stealthy. He thought that by blending in with the towels in the hall closet he could attack our parents. But when he was discovered he just hissed and ran away. He's such a weirdo.

Here's a picture of Snickers enjoying peanut-butter, his drug of choice.

And this is Annie, doing what she does best, being pitiful! Mom wouldn't have it any other way. Dad was trying to get her to look as pitiful as possible for a Humane Society campain but we couldn't get one with good lighting. Sorry Annie, the public will have to wait a little longer to see that beautiful face of yours.

And here is a pic of us pooches waiting to come inside. Mom and dad always ask us to sit before coming in, that way we don't mow them over coming through the door.

Finally, here is a picture of me looking dippy because I'm a dippy boy. Life is great for this Brittany and I hope it's great for you too!

It's Been a Long Time

I am so sorry I have been away for so long. When dad got back he had to travel again for work then mom had to travel for her work so I have been very busy guarding the fort; at least my folks had some time a couple of weeks ago to take me to the dog park again. Mom took some pictures but they didn't turn out good. I met a super nice bulldog named Rosey and a great shepard mix named Harry. I hope I see them again!!!

It's suppose to rain again this week and I am very excited about that because my poochie brother and sister and I get to get our feet all muddy and make muddy footprints all over the house. Dad gets kind of ticked off and mom just laughs.

I better go for now, hopefully mom and dad will get some new pictures of me and the other dogs and help me post them for you all to see.
