Cute Pooch Alert
I made a new friend and you know what - he's famous! Yep he is - he was even on The Daily Puppy!
Meet Biggie Z, the Kuvasz! WARNING - PUPPY ALERT!!!!
Isn't he the cutest little guy! Mom has a soft spot for the Kuvasz - I think because they aren't well known here in the states. She met one once at a dog show and she's been silly over them ever since.
Here is what the AKC has to say about the Kuvasz...
"A spirited dog of keen intelligence, determination, courage and curiosity. Very sensitive to praise and blame. Primarily a one-family dog. Devoted, gentle and patient without being overly demonstrative. Always ready to protect loved ones even to the point of self-sacrifice. Extremely strong instinct to protect children. Polite to accepted strangers, but rather suspicious and very discriminating in making new friends. Unexcelled guard, possessing ability to act on his own initiative at just the right moment without instruction. Bold, courageous and fearless. Untiring ability to work and cover rough terrain for long periods of time. Has good scent and has been used to hunt game."
Wow, I think the AKC says Brittany's are "dorky". Or maybe that's just me? Oh well, I embrace the dorkiness in me.
Anywho, stop by and say "hi ho" to Biggie Z when you can. He sure is a cutie patootie!

I'm a Boomer Sooner but...
OU fan accused of gruesome injury to man clad in UT shirt
By SEAN MURPHYThe Associated Press
OKLAHOMA CITY -- To some University of Oklahoma football fans, there are things that just aren't done in the heart of Sooner Nation, and one of them is to walk into a bar wearing a Texas Longhorns T-shirt.
That's exactly what touched off a bloody skirmish that left a University of Texas fan nearly castrated and an Oklahoma fan facing aggravated assault charges that could put him in prison for up to five years.
The case has set off a raging debate in this football-crazed region about the extreme passions behind a bitter rivalry. Some legal observers even question whether this case could ever truly have an impartial jury.
"I've actually heard callers on talk radio say that this guy deserved what he got for wearing a Texas T-shirt into a bar in the middle of Sooner country," said Irven Box, an attorney in this city 20 miles from OU's campus in Norman.
Police say Brian Christopher Thomas, 32, walked into Henry Hudson's Pub on June 17 wearing a Longhorns T-shirt and quickly became the focus of football trash talk from another regular, Sooners fan Allen Michael Beckett, 53.
Thomas told police that when he went to the bar to pay his tab, Beckett grabbed him in the crotch, pulled him to the ground and wouldn't let go, even as other bar patrons tried to break it up.
It took more than 60 stitches to close the wound, and police interviewed Thomas at a nearby hospital.
Beckett's attorney, Billy Bock, concedes that his client commented about Thomas' shirt but said that it was just good-natured ribbing and that he apologized to Thomas when it appeared to upset the Texas fan. Later, Bock said, Thomas approached his client at the bar and threatened him.
Thomas' attorney disputes Beckett's version. "That's total malarkey," Hughes said. "My client never said a word to him. He got up to pay and when he paid and left a tip, the guy grabbed him."
Beckett, a church deacon, federal auditor and former Army combat veteran, has pleaded not guilty. His next court appearance comes Oct. 4, two days before the Sooners and Longhorns tangle in their annual football game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

I Blame the Heat!!!
We are all happy, dad is looking quite handsome, Annie has a big smile on her face, and Snickers is being scratched on his butt - he loves that.
Then the electricity went out...
Then it got hot...
And HOTTER...
It went on for EIGHT HOURS!!! It was 108 degrees in our backyard and it was at least 90 degrees in the house. It made for very grumpy parents and pooches.
After eight hours the electricity came back on and we could hear the angels sing. We all breathed a sigh of relief, we would sleep in air conditioning - hooray.
Then the next day, the electricity went out again...
and it got hot Hot HOT!!! 108 on the back porch again! Grumpy pooches and parents AGAIN!
Nine hours later the electricity came back on and the angels sang. Annie howled for joy, Snickers barked, and I went to give the air conditioning gods my hedgie and squishy as thanks.
I said, "Oh air conditioning gods. You know I love my hedgie and squishy ball, but I love air conditioning more. I give to you, my babies, a part of myself. I give to you hedgie and squishy. They have given me much joy and I want you, oh air conditioning gods, to enjoy them. I lift my paws to you in thanks".
Yes, yes I did say that.
So now things are back to normal around here and we couldn't be happier. So now I can carry on with telling you about our favorite foods here at the headquarters of Boomfreakah...
River my pal you wanted to know what my five favorite foods are - here you go.
Pumpkin (really, it's like an addiction)
Tomatoes
Cheese
Eggs
Breakfast burritos!
I should explain that once a week mom and dad get breakfast burritos for dinner and mom can't eat a whole one so once a week we get the leftovers. Imagine, cheese, bacon, potatoes, all wrapped up in tortilla goodness.
Now mom has very high cholesterol so she can't eat from her list of favorite foods, but if she could, this is what she should have every freakin day!!!!
Chocolate cake
Strawberry Pop Tarts
Cheetos Puffs
Oreo Cookies
Starbucks Mocha Frappachinos
She shouldn't be having breakfast burritos either but it's just once a week and she's good the rest of the time so I will cut her some slack. For now.
