It's Boomer's Mom

Hi there,

Boomer is sleeping right now so I thought I would sneak in and post some pictures of the sweater I'm working on.

This is the back of the sweater. I'm currently working on the sleeves so I still have a ways to go, but I should be done with this part by the weekend. You can't tell from the pictures but there are little flecks of color worked into the yarn which gives it some depth.

Here's a close-up with the sleeves. I will be increasing every 6th row for the next 36 rows to create the sleeves. This is a very simple to follow pattern which is nice since this is my first sweater. I downloaded the pattern from Vogue Knitting. The site is currently under construction but you can still look at some of the cover designs and download those patterns.

Here is Turbo kitty with all his toys. He's all better now - he has gained back his weight and his fur looks nice and shiny again. We are all very thankful that Turbo is okay (yes, even the dogs!).

I also want to apologize for not visiting everyone's blogs lately. I have been really busy at work and sick as well so I'm quite tired when I get home and don't want to spend much time on the computer. I hope you all understand.

I have also noticed that Boom's blog hasn't had many comments lately. I hope that you are still enjoying it. If you have any suggestions for improvements please let me know.

Finally, I want to thank Jason with the Fleas Gang for figuring out the code for my American Brittany Rescue button on the left side of the page. I tried and tried but I couldn't get it to work and then Jason came to the rescue.

Blessings,
Carol

Whoa--cool sweater. Is your mom making a sweater so she can look like us (ie, hairy?)

I hope your mum is feeling better. If not you'd better give her some Boomer Smooches.

And to answer your question about the tomatoables--my ma ape had the same problem with too many gardentomatobles. Now, my ma ape is not very good at following recipes but to make tomato sauces she usually browns some garlic (to taste) and maybe some onions (depending on how much we are going to eat!) and then she either roasts the maters in the oven or she lets them cook with the garlics for a long time until they are mooshy. She adds a little Italian seasoning and some paprika and a little cayenne pepper and some balsamic vinegar. And she roasts a couplea red pepperables. Then when everything is mooshy she puts it in the blender with lots n' lots of fresh basil and maybe a little olive oil. If it is too bitter add a little honey or sugar.

That's the tomato sauce "recipe". My ma ape is not big on the measuring and following directions but it's hard to mess up tomato sauce!

I love Boomer's blog - mum says it's giving her insight as to what it's like to live with a Brittany - we love seeing all his photos cos he's such a stud!!

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Carol, I think that with summer upon us here in the States, everydoggie is pretty busy traveling and playing outside. So don't think we aren't visiting! We're just tuckered out too.

And thank you. You're more that welcome for the help :-)

Hey Boomer and Boomer mum,

OF COURSE we still visit, and love Boomer's blog - mum gets lazy sometimes and visits but doesn't comment - I told her she needs to get her act together !

Hey Carol, this is Maxey's Mom. The sweater looks awesome. I need to get my needles out again. I still have a baby sweater I am making for my 4 yo...oops..a little late huh. keep up the good work.

Okay, now that Mom is done stealing my identity, HEY! Boomalacka, are you better? Don't worry about not visiting...I've been really busy too. And I think I only posted once in August. Just posted again.

Hope everyone is feeling better...no more sickness allowed.

Hi Boomer! (and Carol) I haven't been blogging much too. Maybe it has something to do with the summer and doing other projects. My Mom loves craft projects and just took a look at your bloggy. Cool!!!

Wow, mama is impressed with your knitting abilities. She has none whatsoever. I'm glad everything is well and the kitty is healthy. Mama is just getting back to writing and reading blogs after a nice long and much need vacation.
